Financial Ombudsman Service – Free Training Day

Free training from the Financial Ombudsman Service. The Financial Ombusdam would like to invite you to a free workshop they’re holding on 12 May 2015 in Leicester. They are the independent expert in sorting out complaints between financial businesses and their customers. Set up by Parliament as an unbiased expert, they put things right fairly and free.

Last year they helped more than a quarter of a million people move on from problems they were having – from bank accounts to PPI. But they know there are many more that need them, so they’d be delighted to meet you to talk about what you’re hearing – and how they can help the people who turn to you as someone whose advice they really trust.
What they say about the workshop:

• We’ll take a look at our role – how you can make the most of us and what to expect if we step in.

• Financial difficulties are a major concern for consumers, so we’ll explain what we expect from businesses – and our approach to sorting out things out.

• We’ll cover unaffordable lending and short-term credit, including payday loans.

• And we’d like to hear about local problems and challenges you’re facing and trends you’re seeing.

There are two sessions – morning and afternoon. The morning session runs 9.30-12.15 and the afternoon from 1.45-4.30. Refreshments are provided.

The training will be held at The City Rooms, Hotel Street, Leicester, LE1 5AW.

How to book:
Online booking form will be up and running on the website soon: http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/news/wt_ca.htm, but if you’d like to sign up now please email to book.
Can’t make the day? They understand that it’s a very busy time for those providing free advice, but even if you can’t get to the event they’d still like to meet you.

If you’d like them to come and visit your offices please let them know. Whether it is a quick catch-up over a coffee to look at how they can mutually assist consumers or something more formal like a meeting/presentation/Q&A, they’d be interested in any suggestions.

If this is something you’d be interested in or you have any further questions, please get in touch.
